I can't be the only women out there who cringes when she seems intimate scenes in movies and the woman ends up being the poster child for bad bra fitting! What's worse is when it's a celebrity who's absolutely one of your favorites and a role model for many.
1. Scarlett Johansson
Probably one of the most famous actresses of the planet and as great as she is at kick bad guy's butt in the Avengers she still doesn't have a clue about bra fitting. Wouldn't all her amazing moves be so much easier in a well-fitting sports bra? Clearly she wears a bra band that is probably at least 4" too big for her, if not a lot more like 6" too big! It's riding so far up her back that in the Avengers picture it's up to her shoulder blades!! Remember bra bands should be tight enough that when you move your arms your bra band should stay firmly in place.
Georgina from FullerFigureFullerBust guess that she probably needs about a 28F, my guess might even be up to a 28G. Scarlett, if you ever read this please take a trip to the UK and get yourself fitted at Bravissimo! I'm pretty sure there is a Freya Deco there with your name on it...

My suggestion for Scarlett? A Freya Deco would be a great start.

2. Christina Aguilera
She has an amazing voice that can bring down the house, her song Fighter is one of my absolute favorites and the message that she sings about in Beautiful is exactly in line with my thoughts on beauty and body image. She's an inspiration to many, I just wish she'd figure out bra fitting because it might cut back on many of her critics that seem to be obsessed with her weight. It's no secret that a well-fitting bra can slim you down drastically (
see here for an example) and make you look more put together.
Unfortunately, her stylist doesn't have a clue and put her in this horribly ill-fitting corset shown below. The cups are miniscule and because of that she's leaking out the sides. Her poor boobs don't have the support they need and if anything I have to wonder if that thing is damaging her breast tissue!
My suggestion for Christina? Fraulein Annie Falling in Love. My guess is she'd probably want a 32G or maybe 34G.

3. Zoe Saldana
If you're not a Star Trek fan like myself you might not know the significance that Uhura had on modern day culture. Nichelle Nichols (the original Uhura) broke so many glass ceilings for African American women on TV that it's unbelievable. She was the FIRST character to play a major role in a TV serious of African decent AND she shared the FIRST interracial kiss on US television with William Shatner. Ironically Nichelle was tempted to leave the show originally because she was hoping to pursue a career on Broadway. Only after talking to Martin Luther King Jr was she convinced of the significance of her role as a leading African America character on TV and she decided to stick with it.
That's why I'm disappointed to see Zoe Saldana sporting a miserable bra fail in the newest Star Trek movie. Like Scarlett she doesn't seem to understand that bra bands should sit parallel to the ground and not ride up your back. My guess is that she should be in a 28F or 28DD. She might even need a 26 band.

My bra suggestion for her? Ewa Michalak's PL Lilia, it's the same simple white but comes in small band and small cup sizes. She could even order a 26 band if needed

Can we send this to their publicists? :D
ReplyDeleteHa, I sure wish their publicists would listen!
DeleteIt's a little unfair to blame these women for their bra woes when it's really the costume designers (or stylist in Christina's case) who need the lesson. It's one thing for a layperson (especially in the US where sub-32 and over-DDD cups are nigh unheard-of) to be unaware that she's wearing the wrong size, but it's doubly atrocious that people who work in fashion and costuming don't know what they're doing.
