Cleo George 28J: Giving Panache a Second Chance

If you haven't commented on how you'd like companies to change when it comes to fit/size range please post here. :D Also, we're still accepting entries for the Bra Band Project!  Now on to the review...

Fit

Recently I bought an order of used bras and Cleo George came out the clear winner.  I think the biggest reason the fit works so well for me is because of the high center gore, which actually keeps my soft breasts in line!  I found the material incredibly comfortable and soft and the light green color was a nice change from what I'm used to. Now, for those who are interested in the difference between soft and firm breasts  you will notice that my review is quite a bit more positive than Bras I Hate who tried the same bra in the same size.  I'd say this bra seems to work much better on softer breasts and that's probably the main difference between our feelings on this bra.

I only have two complaints with this bra and both are due to my breast shape, not necessarily a flaw in the bra itself.  The first is that I have narrow, deeper breasts and the wires underneath the arm are wider than I'd like (something that is always a problem for me with Panache bras).  The second issues is that my breasts are not that tall and because of the soft breast tissue there is some wrinkling at the top of the cups because my breast settle down at the bottom of the cups. It's definitely the correct size and going a cup size smaller would most likely mean that the center gore is too low but my breasts settle down into the bra so the wrinkling occurs.  However, it doesn't show up underneath clothes.

I can't emphasize enough how comfortable this bra is.  I really love the material and I'm definitely going to keep my eyes peeled for other Cleos in the future.  I'm surprised I like it so much because I typically prefer padded bras but between how comfortable it is and the shape, I really don't have much to complain about.  ;)

I LOVE my shape in this bra!  I get a nice rounded shape and lots of uplift.  I had to include a picture here just to show off. :D

General Comments

This is my first try with Cleo's from Panache but definitely won't be my last.  Bras I hate just had a great review of Panache so I'm going to look out for other Cleo's on her list.  Unfortunately, the padded Cleo bras only go up to an H cup, which is definitely too small for me.  It's really a shame because I'm not as big of a fan of sheer cup bras.  I especially feel a bit odd with the see-through look on this one, which just isn't my style.  That being said the fit works so well on me that I'm willing to overlook that.

I should add that the band runs rather loose on this one.  I can definitely feel a big difference in the tightness in the Cleo vs. that of the Curvy Kate Ella that I'll review soon.

Oh, and yay for having a bra in the correct size!  It's a first time EVER that I've been able to go an entire day without quadraboob creeping up. :D

  1. This is one of the first George colour styles and is quite a bit bigger than the later. The turqouse and the yellow from the seasons after are tighter. However, I have a coral one from the same season as the green and it is still Ella-tight in the band. :S

But then for me Cleo seems to be a bit random in the band width, just as Panache even within the same style.

    1. Thanks for the heads up Helena. I'd actually prefer a slightly tighter band so I'd definitely be ok with that and maybe the other colors would be better about the wrinkling in the cup? Definitely something to try. :)

    2. From what I've heard the later versions are supposed to wrinkle less too. :) Anyway, I'm glad you've found something that works so well for you. I love my Georges too. :)

    1. Thanks! It's really nice to be almost at the end of a very long weight loss journey. :D

That's great to hear, what bras did you end up buying?

  3. I just had to comment on your weight loss too. My second child is gonna be 1 soon and I'm still struggling to even get started. I'd like to lose at least 40 pounds but I have terrible eating habits. To see where you came from makes me feel I can do it. You look amazing. I'm currently a 34 back so I do worry about becoming a 32 or less but let's be real here, 34H/HH is not exactly an easy size to fit either. Anyway thanks for your blog. I'm gonna get my act together.

    1. Thanks Bizzy! It really is hard to change your eating habits but for me small steps that I knew I could stick to were what helped the most. Otherwise, I just got overwhelmed with everything that I was supposed to be doing. You can do it! Don't get yourself down because of the age of your child. I actually was gaining weight still when my daughter was 1 and didn't start to lose again until she was about 1.5. It just took me longer to get into the right headspace to lose weight.

The bra band has been an issue. I think it's taken me longer to find bras that would work on mom breasts because most of the bras that work better for softer breast tissue come in larger back sizes. That's why I was so thankful to find this bra! :)
